KOSCIUSKO — Jamie Garriott of the Kosciusko County Farm Service Agency wants to remind producers if they wish to receive credit for either prevented planting or failed acreage, a Notice of Loss must be filed with the Farm Service Agency.

Prevented planting acreage must be reported on form CCC-576 Notice of Loss no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date as established by FSA and Risk Management Agency.  The final planting date for corn is June 5 and the final planting date for soybeans is June 20, making the final date to file for Prevented Planting June 20 for corn and July 5 for soybeans

Additionally, producers with failed acres should file form CCC-576 Notice of Loss to report the acreage damaged by the disaster prior to the destruction of the crop.

The final date to certify acres is July 15.  If there are additional questions, please contact the FSA office at (574) 267-7445 ext. 2.
