SYRACUSE — Syracuse High School Alumni Association is hosting its annual banquet, Saturday, June 15, at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive, Syracuse.

Anyone who attended SHS is welcome to attend. Cost is $25 a person. This includes a social hour with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m., dinner catered by The Sleepy Owl at 6:30 p.m. and recognitions of the classes of 1959, 1949 and 1939.

Mike Smith is the master of ceremonies. The committee, mostly from the last class to graduate,1968, determined time would be better spent socializing and reminiscing than having an entertainment program.

Reservations can still be made by contacting Mike Smith at (574) 457-6425. Dinners may be available for walk-ins if enough are left, for the same price.

The last of the three Syracuse High School buildings was located on East Brooklyn Street. With the consolidation of Milford, North Webster and Syracuse into Wawasee, it was used as a junior high school until 1990. It was demolished. The last class to graduate was in 1968.
