WARSAW – The Warsaw boys rugby club team made it two wins in a row over the weekend.

The team defeated Marquette Catholic by a 22-7 final in a home contest played at Edgewood Middle School on Saturday.

The hosts took a 10-0 lead at halftime as senior Zebulon McCollom first scored on a try and then junior Brendan Bergman also tallied on a try.

Marquette cut the Warsaw lead to 10-7 early in the second half. Senior Cody Tharp then scored on a try and junior Desmond Hudson made  the conversion attempt to make it 17-7. McCollom concluded the scoring with his second try for the winners.

Warsaw, now 2-0, returns to action April 13 with an away game versus Edgewood Rugby.

The Warsaw girls game scheduled for Sunday versus Penn was postponed due to a frozen field. The girls team, which is 1-0 on the season, is scheduled to host Bishop Dwenger on April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Edgewood Middle School.
