Tippecanoe Valley Students, Fulton County 4-H Compete At State

AKRON — On Saturday May 18, the Tippecanoe Valley FFA and Fulton County 4-H poultry teams competed in the state contest at Battleground Middle School outside of Lafayette.

The 4-H team comprised of Evan Cohagan, Nicole Ziemek, Rolanda Reichard and Miranda Dotson were State runners-up. Cohagan was state champion high individual, Reichard was 7th high individual and Ziemek was 10th high individual.

In the FFA contest, Tippecanoe Valley was awarded fifth place. Team members were Haley Hoover, Sarah Kelley and Tahya Lybarger.  Hoover was 10th high individual and Lybarger was 11th high individual. 

Judgers must judge classes consisting of chicken, duck and turkey carcasses, interior, exterior and broken-out eggs, past production live hens and give oral reasons.

Both teams are coached by Michael Jones, Tippecanoe Valley FFA advisor and 4-H volunteer, and Robert Tuttle, Tippecanoe Valley FFA assistant.
