Billie W. Miller, 78, of Ligonier passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at her home. She was born on Aug. 9, 1934 to Orlando and Vina Ritchie in Hindman, Kentucky. On June 30, 1979 she married Omer L. Miller in Cromwell.
Miller was a housewife and enjoyed cooking. She cooked the Rotary Club breakfast for over 25 years. She was the Ligonier Citizen of the Year in 2004 and was the director for the West Noble Food Pantry for over 10 years. She was instrumental in getting the Community Harvest Food Truck scheduled for this area.
Miller was a member of Church of the Stone in Wolcottville, Indiana.
She is survived by two children, Robert Neal Ritchie of Akron, Ohio and Vicki Lynn Alibocus, Cocoa, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Mark Ritchie, Rome City and Jennings Ritchie, Brinkley, Ky., and one sister, Rosetta Terrill, Middletown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Armond and Buford Ritchie.
There will be a funeral service held in Miller’s honor at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013,at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, with Pastor John Lutton officiating. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka, Ind.
There will be a time of visitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are to West Noble Food Pantry.
