Diane Jones and her young son, Keatrine, were on hand this afternoon for a groundbreaking ceremony for the inaugural Women Build of Kosciusko County. The home is being built by Habitat for Humanity and will largely consist of women volunteers.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place at 549 E. Market St., Warsaw. The goal of women build is to have 200 volunteers and, during the ceremony, Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Christon Clark said they have surpassed 213 volunteers.

Those interested in volunteering can still go to Kosciuskohabitat.com and click on the green “Volunteer” link at the top of the page to register. Volunteer coordinators Joni Truex and Amy Scroggs will be working on the volunteer schedule in the weeks leading up to the build.
Further, the goal for the project is to raise $70,400. To date, $58,722 have been raised. Habitat for Humanity is currently operating a Nail-a-Thon event to raise additional funding (See related story). Donations may also be made online.
