Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • March 15, 11:03 a.m. Sammy Hyde was served and arrested on two warrants including battery resulting in bodily injury to a health care provider and possession of a synthetic drug at 1535 Provident Dr.
  • March 15, 3:48 p.m. A juvenile female battered another juvenile female.
  • March 15, 7:28 p.m. Jacqueline Proctor reported she and a male were the victims of an unauthorized debit card transaction.
  • March 16, 12:52 p.m. Kamela Louderback reported her vehicle had been broken into and money had been stolen at 739 E. Fort Wayne St.
  • March 16, 1:59 p.m. A Warsaw woman reported a domestic battery that took place in the presence of a minor.
  • March 16, 5:50 p.m. Police received a report of a fire with smoke showing at the Days Inn. Upon arrival, it was determined that a methamphetamine lab had exploded.
  • March 16, 10:23 p.m. Police arrested Corbin Arnett on charges of operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated per se after he was stopped for traveling 60 mph in a 40 mph speed zone.
  • March 17, 5:28 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop at 3589 Commerce Dr. and discovered the suspect had purchased Pseudophedrine for the purpose of the manufacture of methamphetamine. He was arrested for conspiracy to commit the manufacture of methamphetamine through the purchase of the precursor.
  • March 16, 2 p.m. Stephanie Porter reported a theft from her vehicle while it was parked at work.
  • March 18, 5:32 a.m. Steven Bean reported being the victim of a hit and run car accident at 100 W. Market St.
  • March 18, 11:09 a.m. A Warsaw man reported Cody Carson violated a temporary protection order.
  • March 18, 5:40 p.m. Amanda Prater reported that her purse had been stolen from her vehicle at 920 Anchorage Road.

Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Friday, March 15, 9:22 a.m. N. Detroit and Lyon Streets. Drivers: Nikolas Delp, 25, Stag Drive, Warsaw; and Tracy Green, 20, Walnut Creek Boulevard, Warsaw. Delp was on Lyon Street at the intersection of Detroit Street when he attempted to make a left turn onto Detroit. As he pulled into the intersection he was struck by Green, who had the right of way. Green’s vehicle came to a stop on the property of Low Bob’s causing damage to the landscaping. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, March 15, 8:12 a.m. East Market and South Hickory Streets. Driver/Engineer: Sandra Casanova-Villafane, 42, Three Rivers East, Fort Wayne; and Jeffrey Spangle, Founders Way, Fort Wayne. Casanova-Villafane was westbound when she attempted to cross the railroad tracks on East Market Street. Casasnova-Villafane did not see the flashing lights or hear the whistle of the train. Her vehicle was struck by a northbound train and pushed two blocks from the initial impact. Though there were no visible injuries, Casanova-Villafane was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for complaints of internal pain. Damages: up to $50,000

Tuesday, March 5, 5:04 p.m. Dubois and Provident drives. Drivers: Meredith Miller, 33, Stag Drive, Warsaw; and Joshua Hays, 34, East Secton Street, Claypool. Due to weather conditions, Miller slid while traveling southwest causing her vehicle to clip the Hays vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Provident Drive. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, March 15, 3:25 p.m.Frontage Road and Lake City Highway. Drivers: Nathan Olinger, 33, W. Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Delores Black, 82, EMS T44 Lane, Leesburg. Olinger and Black collided as Black attempted to proceed on Frontage Road after stopping at the mail drop box. According to police, Olinger’s vehicle was at a 45 degree angle giving the appearance that Olinger made an improper pass along the solid lane divider and struck Black’s vehicle. Olinger was escorted to Kosciusko Community Hospital on complaints of neck pain. Damages: up to $1,000

Friday, March 15, 5:15 p.m. South Indiana Street and East Winona Avenue. Drivers: Kenneth Anders, 68, West Main Street 319, Warsaw; Charles Collins, 42, E. North Street, Claypool; and David Anderson, 39, East Main Street, Warsaw. Anders was southbound on South Indiana Street and stopped at a the stop sign at the intersection with Winona Avenue. When he proceeded forward he struck Collins’s vehicle, which did not have to stop for a stop sign at the intersection. This caused Collins to spin out and strike into Anderson’s vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection. Damages: up to $25,000

Friday, March 15, 7:18 p.m. South Hand and West Winona Avenue. Drivers: David Mullins, 28, N. Parker Street, Warsaw; Albert Mullins, 67, Elmer Avenue, Fort Wayne; and Ashley Gibbons, 35, East 300 North, Rochester. David Mullins was eastbound on Winona Avenue approaching the Hand Avenue intersection when he rear-ended Albert Mullins in front of him. This caused Albert Mullins to strike Gibbons’s vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Winona Avenue. Damages: up to $10,000

Saturday, March 16, 10:19 a.m. Lydia and Patterson Road. Driver: Hung Vo, 48, Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Vo backed into a parked vehicle registered to Karen K. Gottschalek. Damages: up to $2,500

Saturday March 16, 9:33 p.m. 376 Enterprise Dr. Drivers: Toni Nelson, 18, Upper Marlboro, Md.; and Cole Mast, 18, East 9th Street, North Manchester. Nelson was backing out of a parking space at Buffalo Wild Wings when she struck Mast, who was traveling eastbound through the parking lot. Damages: up to $25,00

Sunday, March 17, 11:37 p.m. 590 West 300 North. Driver: Michael Depositar, 21, Quail Pointe Drive, Granger. Depositar was traveling southwest in the Kohl’s parking lot when he hit a curb divider. Damages: up to $2,500

Monday, March 18, 3:34 p.m. North Lake Street and West Fort Wayne Street. Driver: Brittany Sherman, 16, Country Club Drive South, Warsaw; and Christy A. Hoffman, 39, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Sherman was stopped at the stop sign for Fort Wayne Street at Lake Street when she attempted to make a right turn. Sherman lost control of her vehicle causing her to strike into Hoffman’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Monday, March 18, 5:54 a.m. Lake City Highway. Driver: Ricardo Flores, 48, E. Wooster Road, Pierceton. Flores was traveling west on Lake City Highway when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a guardrail. Damages: up to $10,000
