Bell Memorial Public Library Celebrates National Poetry Month
MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library is hosting a poetry contest for all ages.
April is National Poetry Month. Write a poem about something you love. Entry forms are located at the library’s main circulation desk as well as in the library’s monthly newsletter. Winners will be chosen by library staff according to age groups and prizes will be awarded. Entries must be submitted no later than Wednesday, April 13, to be entered to win. Participants are not required to have a library card, but this would be a great opportunity to sign up for one.
April 7 to 13 is National Library Week. Come check out how libraries build strong communities.
There will be no preschool story hour Friday, April 5.
Join the library at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, for an afternoon at the movies. This month’s feature film will be “Pillow Talk.” Popcorn and a drink will be provided.
The library is currently working on having old microfilm, pictures, documents and other Mentone history digitized. This is a work in progress and it will take some time, but the goal is to make them available in the library’s catalog so that they can be perused at your own convenience on a computer, tablet, or other device.
