FLORIDA — A former Leesburg couple died Friday, March 15, in Hillsborough County, Florida, in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.

Victor Staton, 75, Sebring, Fla., and Marilyn Staton, 66, died Friday in Plant City, Fla.

According to WFLA News Channel 8, dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 3:15 p.m. from a home on Wen Bar Circle. A male told the dispatcher that a shooting had taken place.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a male and female dead inside the residence. 

Detectives believe the man and woman were married at one time but were no longer living together, as the man was reportedly living in another part of the state.

According to Tampa Bay News, the deaths are being investigated as a domestic-related murder-suicide.
