CLAYPOOL — Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan will appoint a new Claypool Town Board member at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.

Due to the recent death of Larry Neher, a Republican member of the Claypool Town Board, a replacement for the remainder of his term which is Dec. 31, is to be named.

“We would like to express our sympathy to the family and friends of Larry Neher, and we are grateful for his years of service to the citizens of Claypool.”

Eligible applicants for the vacant council position must be a resident of Claypool, a Republican in good standing and must not have a felony in their history.

Since there are fewer than two people eligible to participate in a precinct committeemen caucus to fill the vacancy, Ragan will make the appointment for the remaining term. The newly elected council member will take office April 4.

Declarations of candidacy and statements of economic interests are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be notarized and filed with the chairman no later than 72 hours prior to the appointment or by 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 1.

For further information, contact Ragan at (574) 265-1430 or at [email protected].
