NAPPANEE – For the second time in three years, a Trenshaw sister signed her National Letter of Intent to continue a basketball career.

NorthWood senior guard Neely Trenshaw is set to join the college ranks after signing with Earlham College Friday. Neely joins her sister, Taitlyn, to play college ball as Taitlyn is currently a sophomore playing with IUSB. Neely Trenshaw joins fellow Northern Lakes Conference hoopster Halle Shipp, who signed with Earlham out of Warsaw earlier this week.

A co-captain with the Black Swish, Trenshaw won the team Defensive Award three straight seasons as a sophomore, junior and senior. This past season, Trenshaw tallied 28 steals and 53 rebounds, earning a season-high four steals against Bremen and had eight caroms against Penn. Not asked to score on a NorthWood team that had other options, Trenshaw tallied just 3.7 points per game, but did tally 13 points in a gritty win over Columbia City and 13 points in a road win at Tippecanoe Valley.

Trenshaw, a 2018-19 IFN All-Area Honorable Mention, finished in the top 20 in career assists and three-pointers made in NorthWood program history. She was also a four-year letterwinner for the program.

Trenshaw plans to major in pre-vet at Earlham.

The Quakers, coached by Shauna Watson, finished 8-17 this past season. Earlham is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
