BREAKING: Kosciusko Jail Inmate Dies After Apparent Overdose

WARSAW — An inmate of the Kosciusko County Jail is dead after an apparent overdose occurred inside the jail on Saturday, March 9.

Jail officers discovered Dennis Edward McCrory, 39, unconscious around 8 p.m. and began to perform CPR. A 911 call was made and emergency responders with Lutheran EMS arrived on scene and helped perform CPR for a substantial amount of time. Six doses of Narcan were also administered to McCrory.

McCrory was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and later sent to a hospital in Fort Wayne for further medical attention. According to Kosciusko County Sheriff Kyle Dukes, McCrory was declared deceased around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 10.

A criminal investigation has occurred and a police report has been turned over to the prosecutor’s office for review.

More information on the events leading up to the death and associated criminal charges will be released at a later time.
