Bell Library Announces Week’s Events
MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library is currently working on having its old microfilm, pictures, documents and other Mentone history digitized. This is a work in progress, and will take some time. But the goal is to make them available in a catalog so that patrons can peruse at their own convenience on personal computers, phones or other devices.

Preschool Story Hour
Preschool story hour takes place every Friday at 10 a.m. in the library’s children’s’ room. The theme for Friday, March 8 is St. Patrick’s Day. Stories to be read are “Hooray for St. Patty’s Day” by Joan Holub and “St. Patrick’s Day” by Anne Rockwell. Children can make a stained glass shamrock for their craft.
Monday afternoon At The Movies.
Patrons are urged to join the library on Monday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. for Movie Monday. The feature film will be “Father Goose.” Popcorn and a drink will be provided.
Hoopla Digital
“The Cutter Connection” by Cassandra Aarsen, “Forever My Hero” by Sharon Sala and “Skin and Bone” by T.A. Moore are some of the new titles recently added. Kids titles include “Bully” by Jennifer Satler and “Capybara” by Katie Gillespie.
National Pi Day (Teens And Young Adults)
Patrons are invited to join the library on Tuesday, March 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the teen room to celebrate National Pi Day. Participants can make a mini pie in their favorite flavor and test their skills at math. Contact Elyza Oswald at (574) 353-7234 for more information.
The library has many popular television series, both new and old, on DVD that are available for check-out. Patrons must have a library card to do so. Selections currently available include “The Librarians,” “Longmire,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Mash” and “Modern Family.”
DVDs expected to arrive soon include “At Eternity’s Gate,” “BlackKKlansman,” “Winter’s Dream,” “Love on Safari,” “Nobody’s Fool,” “Alpha,” “The Bookshop,” “The Nutcracker,” “Robin Hood,” “Royal Matchmaker,” “The Front Runner,” “Can You Ever Forgive Me,” “White Boy Rick,” “Beautifully Broken,” “Indivisible” and “Halloween 2018.”
