When was the last time you navigated our Warsaw Community Public Library website? If you haven’t lately, then you are missing out!
I’m going to highlight just a few pages that you should really check out. The first is our home page at http://www.warsawlibrary.org. Here, you can get a quick overview of days that we may be closed due to holidays, weather or in-service for the staff. Also on the Home Page you can click on the Calendar of Events and see what programs we are offering for the month.
If you use a Kindle or Nook or other electronic reader, there is a link for OverDrive, which includes books that can be downloaded and borrowed from the library. Just below that is ‘freegal music’ where you can obtain free and permanent downloadable music from Sony’s playlist. Now that is a deal!
Now we navigate to http://www.warsawlibrary.org/index.php?id=58 to access Recent Purchases made by the library. Under the various tabs, you can look at two months worth of new purchases, broken down into categories: Inspirational, Mystery, Romance, General Fiction, DVDs, Audio books, and Video Games. When you click on one of the categories, it will take you not only to the list, but the library catalog. From there you may request a hold, check for the items status, or log on and put it on your personal reading list.
If you are into Genealogy, head over to http://www.warsawlibrary.org/index.php?id=71. There you will find links to the various books and records that we have in our Indiana Room. These books are broken down into Local Books, Indiana Books and Family History books. Included in the lists are also a record of all of the newspapers that we have on Microfilm.
A new addition to our Genealogy page is Obituary Look-ups. The actual obituary is not online, but we do tell you what newspaper it is located in and the date. Can’t come in? Email or call us, and we will find it for you! Keep in mind that this is a work in progress, and new names are added everyday.
And one last thing … if you haven’t joined our page on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/warsawpubliclibrary, please do so today! We are constantly updating the site with events, recipes, book reviews, and photos of a select batch of new books, music or dvds that we put into circulation on an almost daily basis.
We hope to see you soon at the Warsaw Community Public Library!
