AUBURN – After clinching a share of a conference championship Tuesday, Lakeland Christian Academy ended a whirlwind stretch with a 60-51 loss Thursday night at Lakewood Park Christian.

Playing its fifth game in seven days, LCA visited LPC for a make-up game from earlier this month, and showed the legs of a weary team. Hitting just three field goals in the first quarter, LCA found itself down five points after the first quarter then matched LPC to still trail 25-20 at the half.

Jake Harmon caught fire in the second half for the Cougars, hitting five of his six three-pointers to keep LCA around. LPC countered from the free throw line, hitting 10-14 chances in the fourth quarter, which were all the free throw attempts it would take in the game.

Harmon finished with 20 points and four rebounds, Landon Twombly adding 10 points and four assists. Landon Paris and Trenton Parker combined for 15 points and five rebounds.

Caedmon Bontrager had a huge night for the Panthers (7-14) with 17 points and nine rebounds. Josh Pike ended with 10 points and both Jake Ingram and TJ Faur tallied nine points.

LCA (10-13) will shift to the sectional, with its first round matchup at Fremont next Wednesday against No. 1 Fort Wayne Blackhawk.
