WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Schools board of trustees applauded the efforts of an area financial institution for its continued support of one of the school district’s technology-geared programs.

The board presented representatives of Teacher’s Credit Union with a certificate of appreciation for the company’s ongoing support of robotics at Washington STEM Academy.

“We’re recognizing TCU for the continued support with our LEGO Robotics program,” said Tom Ray, principal of Washington STEM Academy. “They’ve been there since the beginning and it’s not only financial, but with people’s talent and time. They allow their employees to come over to Washington during showcasing, during the day and even after school and evenings so it provides an authentic audience for our kids and that’s hugely important.”

Washington STEM Academy has used LEGO Robotics to enhance the technology education of its students for several years and relies on community support to keep the program running.
