The Kosciusko County Crime Scene Investigation team was called last night to a vacant residence in the 200 block of North Fort Wayne Avenue where a Randall Jones, 56, was found unresponsive.

Efforts to revive Jones were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Early this morning, Frankie Lee Poe, 40, of 704 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, was arrested for residential entry to a vacant building and police say he is also a person of interest in the death investigation.

At 7:34 p.m. last night, Warsaw Police responded to 228 N. Fort Wayne Ave. The victim was located on the steps of what is a vacant duplex. Police attempted CPR until Multi-Township EMS paramedics arrived on scene and transported him to KCH. An autopsy is scheduled for today at the Northeast Forensic Center in Fort Wayne to determine the cause of death.

Poe is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail without bond.

If investigators determine the male victim’s death was caused by murder, it would be the second homicide in the county in four days. (See related story)
