WARSAW — Zimmer Biomet is announcing the appointment of Dr. Pamela Puryear as senior vice president, chief human resources officer. Puryear, who most recently served as senior vice president and chief talent officer at Pfizer, will report directly to Zimmer Biomet President and CEO Bryan Hanson.

Aside from her role at Pfizer, Puryear served as chief talent officer at Hospira, a leading provider of injectable drugs and infusion technologies.

Puryear’s leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including 2017 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America and 2017 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Business from “Black Enterprise” magazine, the 2016 Trailblazer Award from the National Associate of African Americans in Human Resources, Illinois’ Most Powerful and Influential Women from the Illinois Diversity Council as well as the Learning In Practice Award from “Chief Learning Officer” magazine, among many more. Puryear started her career as a finance professional for several real estate investment advisors, and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and organizational behavior from Yale, an MBA from Harvard Business School and a PhD in organizational psychology.
