WINONA LAKE – Grace College announced a pair of signees this week with the additions of Dimitri Margaritidis and Mallory Aker.
Margaritidis, a senior at Frankton High School, ran both cross country and track for the Eagles. As a regional qualifier in cross country, he improved a sectional time of 19:51 to an impressive 18:02 in the regional, placing 37th overall in a tough field. In track as a junior, Margaritidis posted a personal record of 2:02 in the 800 meters in the regional and also had personal times in the one mile of 4:56 and 10:50 in the two mile. He also has clocked a 17:03 in the 5,000 meters on the track.
Aker, a senior at Southern Wells High School, was a standout for the cross country program. Aker landed a pair of top-20 runs at the sectional and regional levels, posting times of 21:37 then 20:41. At the New Haven Semi-state, Aker ran a 20:40 to place 66th overall for the Raiders. On the track as a junior, Aker’s 13:12 showing in the two-mile in the sectional yielded her sixth best in the race.
The two are the first publicized signings for the 2019 class for head coach Jeff Raymond and the Lancer cross country and track programs.
