NORTH WEBSTER — A three-vehicle crash reported Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, turned out to be two separate accidents at the same location.

Patricia A. Skinner, 68, East Shore Park Road, Leesburg, was transported to an area hospital after complaining of pain to the chest. Stanley R. Mikel, 66, North CR 375E, Syracuse, and David Masterson, 44, Herscher Drive, Warsaw, were not transported.

The first accident was reported at 10:57 a.m. on East CR 500N, east of North CR 700E. Mikel was eastbound in his 2015 Toyota. He told police due to the heavy snowfall, visibility was poor. He approached a vehicle in the eastbound lane he thought was stopped. When he realized he was not going to be able to stop without hitting the vehicle, he attempted to pass the vehicle. It was after he started to pass the other vehicle he saw Skinner’s westbound 2016 Honda and could not avoid colliding heading on with that vehicle. Skinner also reported she saw a vehicle in the eastbound lane but could not tell if it was stopped or not due to the poor visibility. She also slowed down to go past the vehicle when her vehicle was struck by Mikel’s vehicle.

After impact Skinner’s vehicle collided with a fence owned by John P. Schenkel, East CR 500N, North Webster. Damage in this accident was estimated up to $50,000.

The second accident, involving Masterson, occurred at 11:26 a.m. just west of the original collision. Masterson was eastbound in a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow covered road. The vehicle went off the south side of the road and through a fence owned by Jan A. Lundy, East CR 500N, North Webster.

Damage in this accident was estimated up to $2,500.

This Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by David B. Masterson, went through a chain link fence at the accident site after he lost control of his vehicle.
