WARSAW — The Warsaw Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday afternoon at the Check Into Cash, located at 2596 Walton Blvd., Warsaw.

At 2:52 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, Central Dispatch received a 911 call from an employee at the Check Into Cash advising the store had just been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had fled the area on foot. The suspect was described as a male wearing a white coat and blue jeans. The suspect reportedly had his face covered with a black and yellow winter hat that had eye holes cut out of it. The suspect brandished a black handgun before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses observed the male run northbound from the store and cross over the large dirt mounds located northwest of Check Into Cash.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the subject.
