Mary Alice Miller, 87, Warsaw, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 21, 1931, in Warsaw to Warren and Winifred (Koser) Howe. She was married to Melvin Miller on Dec. 18, 1971; he preceded her in death on June 1, 1982.

She was a lifetime area resident and was involved in many ways in the community. She was a volunteer at Combined Community Service, The United Way and the Jail and Bail March of Dimes. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Past Worthy Matron of the Warsaw Order of Eastern Star. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, eating ice cream and eating out with friends and family.

She is survived two daughters, Sharon Evans and Rebecca (William) Bailey all of Warsaw, nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Joyce Bowen of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Julia McKinney and great grandson Kaleb Lampkin.

A funeral service in Mary’s honor will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, at Pathway Church, 2402 Old Rd 30, Warsaw, IN 46580.

Friends and family will be received two hours prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorial donations in Mary’s honor may be given to the American Cancer Society.
