
Cathy Lynn (McCord) Collins, 66 and a resident of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly in her home at 1:34 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
Born on July 19, 1952, in Union City, she was the daughter of Alfred and JoAnne (Holden) McCord. She was a graduate of Winchester High School in Winchester and attended Ball State University. She worked at Explorer Van for many years and later worked for R.R. Donnelley.
A caring, selfless person, she was always helping others. She was a true “mamma bear” as she was protective of her family and cared deeply for each of them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed football and NASCAR, favoring driver Ryan Newman. She was previously a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she also worked in the kitchen, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Those who survive Cathy Collins with memories to treasure include two daughters, Rebecca (Joseph) Books, Macy and Christina Reece, Warsaw; son, John Gregory (Amanda) Reece, Macy; two brothers, Norman McCord, Warsaw and Mike (Rebecca Nine) McCord, Warsaw; sister, Donna Swick, Warsaw and mother, JoAnne McCord, Warsaw. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cathy’s father preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, from 10 a.m.-noon, Monday, Jan. 7. Following visitation, Pastor Jerry Creekmore will officiate a funeral service which celebrates Cathy’s life.
