WARSAW — Police say a Warsaw man escalated an argument and battered a woman, including spitting on her and head butting the side of her face.

Christopher Robert Sexton, 24, 3762 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

According to police, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Nov. 27, and spoke to a female who reported being assaulted. Police said the woman reported talking to Sexton and that during the conversation, Sexton became upset and spit in her face. She reported that he then pushed her to the floor two different times.

The woman told police she managed to get up and leave the room, but that Sexton followed her and head butted on the right side of her face. The woman told police she began to feel tremendous pain and said she also had a cut on her hand from her fall to the floor after being pushed. Police reported taking photographs of the woman’s face.

Police located Sexton and asked him about the incident. Officers reported that Sexton said he “didn’t want it to happen,” but that he became “angry.”

Sexton was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Nov. 27 on $1,000 cash bond. He was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to be in Kosciusko County Superior Court II on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 9 a.m.
