Two separate accidents near Syracuse this morning involved students on their way to school and slippery roads were to blame.

Sandi Ricci, 18, of North Webster, was rounding the curve on Bowser Road north of CR 375 East at about 7:20 a.m. Ricci lost control on the ice covered road and drove off the east side of the road, colliding with a tree.

Minutes later, Eston Clayton, 18, of Milford, was rounding that same curve and saw Ricci’s vehicle. He swerved and over corrected causing his vehicle to also leave the road and strike a tree. Ricci was not injured. Clayton sustained a bump to the head.
