NAPPANEE – The Whitko boys basketball team dropped a 59-32 final Friday night at NorthWood.
The Panthers led 28-18 at halftime before outscoring the Wildcats 18-4 in the third quarter to take control of the regular-season finale for both teams.
Jonathan Wilkinson led the Panthers with a game-high 20 points. NorthWood improves to 14-6 with its third straight win after a five-game losing streak prior to that.
Tommy Klem and Kyle McCoy each had 11 points for NorthWood Friday night.
Trey Weber scored 10 points to lead Whitko, which drops to 5-15 with its third straight loss. Prior to that, the Wildcats had won three in a row.
Gabe Powell netted seven points and Cole Kessie six for Whitko.
Whitko plays Bellmont Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Class 3-A Norwell Sectional. NorthWood faces West Noble Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the opening game of the Class 3-A Wawasee Sectional.
