MENTONE — Stephen (Steve) Gerber is the new pastor of the Palestine Bible Church.

Starting Nov. 18, Pastor Gerber will serve indefinitely as the church’s interim pastor.

“I am looking forward to serving the members of the Palestine Bible Church and everyone in the community is welcome,” said Gerber. “We are glad to be used by the Lord to assist in whatever way He chooses.”

Steve Gerber is a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1997. He joined the Grace College and Seminary Advancement team in March 2016. Before coming to Grace, Gerber pastored churches in Roann, Wabash, Trafalgar, and most recently in Bloomington. He recently served as the executive director of a small not-for-profit that provides transportation services in Martinsville.

Gerber was employed in development with the Shepherd Foundation in Union Grove, Wis., from 2004 to 2010. He has a rich background in social services, management and not-for-profit leadership. During his time with Shepherds, Gerber earned his M.B.A. in July 2008 from the University of Phoenix. In August 2018 he earned his CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential from CFRE International.

Gerber and his wife, Vicki, have two sons, Kyle and Nathan, both Grace College students. The entire family resides in Winona Lake.

The Palestine Bible Church is located at 3226 S. CR 550W, Mentone, halfway between Mentone and Warsaw on SR 25 in Palestine. Palestine Bible Church is an independent, non-denominational, fundamental church that believes in the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for those who believe in Jesus Christ and for his church. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday followed by the worship service at 10:30 a.m. and the Sunday evening service at 6 p.m.
