BUNKER HILL – The bubble finally burst for the Tippecanoe Valley soccer club.

No. 9 Fort Wayne Concordia ran away from Valley in the second half for a 9-0 win in the semi-finals of the Maconaquah Boys Soccer Sectional Wednesday night.

After picking up its first-ever sectional win Monday against the hosts, Valley couldn’t find the magic against the highly-ranked Cadets. A 2-0 lead at the half got out of hand in the second half, lifting the Cadets to the championship match Saturday evening.

Valley finishes its season 2-13 overall. Concordia moves on to face No. 11 Manchester in finals Saturday night. The Squires, now 16-0 on the season, had Caleb Stout score three goals and Isaiah Davis two goals in a 6-0 rout of Peru in the day’s second contest.

In other area sectionals, at Homestead, Huntington North knocked out Fort Wayne Wayne on penalty kicks to meet Homestead, a 4-1 winner over Fort Wayne South Side. At Argos, the hosts shut out North Miami 6-0 while Winamac downed Caston 1-0 to set up Saturday’s final. At Concord, Northridge dropped Goshen 4-0 while Memorial topped Concord in penalties to set up Saturday’s main event.
