KOSCIUSKO — Police responded to a report of a man unconscious in a vehicle and arrested the man on several drug-related charges.

Jonathan Allen Carpenter, 34, 2663 S. Raber Road, Columbia City, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. He is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $10,250 surety and cash bond.

According to police, officers were called to a scene in Kosciusko County of an unconscious person in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they reported finding Carpenter unconscious in a Nissan Pathfinder.

Officers were able to awaken Carpenter, but said he appeared confused and disoriented. While talking to Carpenter, the police observed a glass smoking device lying on the seat next to him, as well as an eye glass container that contained a crystal substance in two plastic bags and a cut straw. The substance field tested positive as methamphetamine.

Police reported that Carpenter admitted that the methamphetamine belonged to him.
