Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • Feb. 6, 12:11 p.m. Sprint on Frontage Road reported an item had been stolen from the store.
  • Feb. 6, 5:30 p.m. Rachel Hight reported a theft from her residence.
  • Feb. 6, 7:19 p.m. Police reported false informing or reporting. Police arrested a juvenile male for possession of marijuana and located a second juvenile runaway.
  • Feb. 6, 7:23 p.m. Louis Jack Jones reported that an unknown male suspect attempted to kick in a residential front door.
  • Feb. 6, 7:40 p.m. Ashley Huff reported her helmet was stolen while at Owens West.
  • Feb. 7, 9:37 a.m. Ashley B. Puckett reported her work email account had been hacked into and emails were taken with intent to defraud residents of their money.
  • Feb. 7, 1:50 p.m. Adam M. Hyde reported his car had been stolen.
  • Feb. 7, 6 p.m. Tiffany L. Harris reported she was the victim of a hit and run accident. Police arrested a male subject for operating while intoxicated and for leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Feb. 7, 8:39 p.m. Police arrested a suspect for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of synthetic cannabis.
  • Feb. 9, 1:20 p.m. Police stopped a vehicle for an infraction and found the driver had a suspended prior license.
  • Feb. 9, 1:42 p.m. Officers were called to an apartment building where evicted tenants had stolen items and had written on the walls of the apartment. Mack Stokes and Charlee Ormanovich were arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for theft and criminal mischief. Stolen items were recovered.
  • Feb. 9, 12 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Orin A. Boyd reported a theft had occurred. Investigation is ongoing.

Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2:54 p.m. Detroit Street. Drivers: Shanna L. Dawson, 43, Buffalo Street, Warsaw; and Brandi L. Smith, 20, 1350 North, Syracuse. Dawson was rear-ended by Smith when she stopped for traffic on Detroit Street. Damages: up to $5,000

Tuesday, Feb. 12, 4:27 p.m. 388 Enterprise Drive. Drivers: Kelly M. Corn, 19, Emeline Street, Milford; and Tanner M. Hobbs, 17, 400 West, Warsaw. Corn was backing out of Warsaw Tanning Co. when she backed into Hobbs vehicle, who was waiting to park behind her. Damages: up to $1,000

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 9:34 a.m. East Center and South Scott Streets. Drivers: Whitney N. Hobbs, 26, Old Colony Road, Warsaw; and Brian R. Linkey, 50, North Old Orchard Drive, Warsaw. Linkey was making a right turn when he was rear- ended by Hobbs who was distracted and did not notice Linkey’s vehicle turning. Damages: up to $2,500

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 11:50 a.m. 2401 E. Center St. Drivers: Keith A. Claassen, 52, East Pleasant Street, Etna Green; and Kaileigh P. Sterk, 19, Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Claassen was backing out of a parking space when Sterk struck his vehicle. Damages: up to $1,000

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 8:26 p.m. 615 West Market Street. Driver: Rachel D. Miner, 22, Belleville, Ill. Miner was backing out of a private drive into a rear alley when she struck a parked vehicle located in the dark alley that was registered to Kenneth E. Swain of Warsaw. Damages: up to $5,000

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 5:04 p.m. 312 North Lake Street. Drivers: Geraldine A. Hornung, Lakeshore Dirve, Warsaw. Hornung parked her vehicle at 312 North Lake Street and went into work. When she left work she noticed her vehicle had been struck, however, no contact was made between the driver of the unknown vehicle and Hornung. Police did note a bit of white paint transferred onto Hornung’s vehicle. Damages: up to $1,000

Wednesday, Feb. 13, 5:23 p.m. Detroit Street and Winona Avenue. Drivers: Amy B. Dian, 44, East Laurien Court, Warsaw; and Donald A. Harlan, 36, 5th Street, North Manchester. Dian was southbound on Detroit Street when she rear-ended Harlan who was stopped in front of her. Damages: up to $5,000

Thursday, Feb. 14, 11:43 a.m. Lake City Highway. Driver: Jonathan D. Kuta, 35, East Market Street, Warsaw. The passenger of Kuta’s vehicle was unaware there was no parking brake on the truck and when she turned the truck on, the vehicle went forward. Kuta attempted to get into the driver seat to stop the vehicle, the vehicle rear-ended a parked vehicle registered to Randy U. Sexton of Warsaw. Kuta then attempted to back up but backed into another parked vehicle registered to Jason R. Pichea of Warsaw. Damages: up to $5,000

Thursday, Feb. 14, 10:38 a.m. 205 Shaffer Road. Driver: Barbara Fribley, 83, Ranch Road, Warsaw. Fribley started her vehicle and stated that when the engine started her vehicle moved back and struck into a parked vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
