NORTHRIDGE 5, WAWASEE 0

Northridge moved to 15-1 on the season and clinched the Northern Lakes Conference championship with its win over Wawasee Tuesday night.

The Raiders moved to 6-0 in the NLC with its win, cinching up the conference championship. The No. 5 Raiders will visit No. 12 Warsaw Thursday night to look to finish off a perfect NLC slate against the 4-0-2 Tigers.

Northridge scored four of its goals in the first half, needing just two minutes to find the net and tacking on extras in the 28th, 32nd and 38th minutes. The fifth goal came in the 49th minute, and the match was called with 23:10 remaining due to lightning.

Wawasee, amidst the celebration for the Raiders, dropped to 4-11 overall and 0-6 in the NLC with one shot left to get a NLC tally Thursday at Plymouth.

“Northridge proved to be the dominant team tonight netting five on us,” said Wawasee head coach Jordan Sharp. “Disappointed in our overall performance. I thought we had more to give. The guys didn’t take the opportunity to play a state-ranked and nationally-ranked team. All that being said, we will take some positives away from this into our final game at Plymouth.”

CULVER ACADEMY 11, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 0

Tuesday proved to be LCA’s most lopsided result on the negative end as Culver Academy ripped up the Cougars.

Culver Academy dominated play on the offensive end, scoring on a whopping 50 percent of its shots, making 11 of 22 attempts.

Alex Farmer also made the offensive work benefit him in net, stopping all three LCA shots to keep the clean sheet on the other end. Peter Koller and Remington Swanson combined to make 11 saves for the Cougars.

The result for Culver moved the Academy to 4-4-3 overall while LCA missed out Tuesday on its chance for its 10th win, falling to 9-4-1 overall.

“This was a tough result,” said LCA skipper Dan Miller. “We didn’t play our best, and Culver played very well. At this point in the year we have to get better. This is a busy week, we need to get healthy and play better. I know we can.”

LCA will wrap up the regular season Thursday versus Rochester.

ARGOS 4, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1

Tippecanoe Valley was building up the upset of the day, but soon awoke a sleeping dragon.

Harrison Vining hammered home a header to level the score at 1-1 against No. 18 Argos. But Valley would draw no more blood while the Dragons would go on to score three unanswered goals to cap the contest.

Jacob Bailey made the pass for the assist on the Vining goal.

Valley (2-11) will host LaVille Thursday for its senior night.

NORTHWOOD 3, PLYMOUTH 0

For the second time in two days, NorthWood’s defense pitched a shutout.

But on Tuesday, NorthWood got its offense to convert, knocking off NLC foe Plymouth. NorthWood, which played John Glenn to a nil-nil draw Monday night, had solo goals from Sebastian Guillen, Andy Duran and Kyle Luster. Landon Parker added two assists and Kayden Newcomer had a helper.

Luke Lingle handled all seven Plymouth shots to pick up the shutout in net for the Panthers.

The win ended a modest three match winless streak for the Panthers, moving the squad to 6-7-2 overall and wrapping up at 2-5 in the NLC. NorthWood hosts Bethany Christian Thursday in the regular season finale.
