KNOX — Triton advanced in live play at four positions and got another through via bye at the opening round of the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament in Knox Wednesday.

John Gardner beat North Judson’s Gavin Alonso, 6-1, 6-1 at 1 singles, Jared Bules downed Judson’s Hayden Kaminski, 6-4, 7-5 at 2 singles, and Connor Large bounced back from an opening-set loss to Judson’s Caleab Shireman, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at 3 singles. Tyler Heckaman and Grant Eib advanced through Bluejays 2 doubles partners Gavin Legac and Drew Attinger, 6-3, 6-1, while Carter Kuntz and Chase Butler received a bye at 1 doubs.

The Trojans advance to play host Knox in the finals Thursday. The Redskins beat Triton 4-1 in each of their previous round robin meetings early this season.
