TIPPECANOE VALLEY 3, WHITKO 2
Tippecanoe Valley’s short-handed boys tennis team collected its second win of the season and first in the Three Rivers Conference at Whitko Tuesday.

The Vikings won on all three live courts as Payton Mills won 6-1, 6-0 at 1 singles, Connor Frentzel won 6-0, 6-0 at 2 singles, and Ethan Yates won a super tiebreaker victory at 3 singles, 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-7 to seal the team victory.

Valley forfeited both doubles matches.

The Vikings host Manchester Thursday.

MANCHESTER 5, TRITON 0
Triton suffered a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Manchester Tuesday.

Carter Kuntz and Chase Butler pushed Kyle Shephard and Kamdyn Lester to a super tiebreak at 1 doubles but fell 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-8. John Gardner lost to Luke Donathon 6-1, 6-0 at 1 singles, Jared Bules lost to Brady Wiley 6-0, 6-4 at 2 singles, and Trevor Miller lost to Spence Trick 6-3, 6-0 at 3 singles. Tyler Heckaman and Grant Eib took a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Quinn Martin at 2 doubles.

Triton slips to 6-11 on the season.

The Trojans enter the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament at Knox Wednesday.

GRACE 9, IU KOKOMO 0
Grace’s women’s tennis team wasted little time beating IU Kokomo on Tuesday with a 9-0 victory.

The Lady Lancers are enjoying their second-best start in program history at 7-1. Only the 2009 squad who started 10-1 was better.

Grace only lost two games across three doubles courts. Jayna Armstrong and Morgan Mast were a perfect 8-0 at No. 3 doubles. Emily Mast and Jenna Jackson finished 8-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Carrie Copeland and Molly Fitzpatrick won by the same score at No. 2 doubles.

Emily Mast posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 score at the top singles’ position, and Armstrong (No. 4 singles) and Morgan Mast (No. 6 singles) were also flawless.

Copeland at No. 2 singles excelled with an 6-0, 6-1 win, and Fitzpatrick also cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. Jackson won in three sets at No. 3 singles to complete a 9-0 sweep for Grace.

The Lady Lancers jump back into Crossroads League play on Wednesday with a home match with Indiana Wesleyan. The men’s matchup will start at 2 p.m. with both teams to kick off doubles’ play at approximately 3:30 p.m.
