KOSCIUSKO — Christopher Pezan, 23, Syracuse, died after being ejected from his vehicle during an accident that occurred early this morning, Sept. 13.
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single-vehicle accident at 1:58 a.m. on East US 30, near CR 250S, Pierceton. Pezan was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu westbound on US 30. It appeared that his vehicle started to go off the south side of US 30. Officers say he overcorrected, causing his vehicle to go off the north side of the road. It appeared that Pezan’s vehicle rolled over multiple times, went over CR 250S and came to a rest on the side of the road.
While the vehicle crossed CR 250S, Pezan was ejected from the vehicle. He was declared deceased on scene by officers. While retrieving the vehicle, officers discovered a half-empty alcoholic beverage in the interior of the vehicle.
The investigation was turned over to an officer with the Kosciusko County Fatal Accident Crash Team. Lutheran EMS, Pierceton Fire Department, Pierceton Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department also responded.
Damages were estimated at $25,000.
