BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team tuned up for a huge game on Friday by downing Rochester 60-45 Tuesday night.
The Trojans, who improved to 13-5 with their fifth straight win, will host Class 3-A power and ninth-ranked Tippecanoe Valley on Friday.
Clay Yeo had another big game Tuesday night as the host Trojans took care of the struggling Zebras. Yeo, a senior and Valparaiso University recruit, poured in 31 points to pace Triton to the victory.
The Trojans led just 12-10 after the first quarter and 26-16 at halftime against Rochester, which drops to 4-13. The hosts outscored the Zebras 20-8 in the third period to take control.
Seth Glingle and Skyler Reichert each scored six points for Triton, which hit 11-of-11 from the free throw line in the victory.
Jonathan O’Dell led Rochester with 15 points.
Triton hosts Valley, who is 16-2, and Rochester hosts Peru Friday.
