SOUTH BEND — A murder that rocked South Bend will be the focus of a crime show this weekend.

Alma Del Real’s case will be featured on the show “On the Case with Paula Zahn.” The episode is titled “Shifting Stories.”

Del Real, who came to South Bend from Mexico for a better life, disappeared in 2015.

The community and family members desperately searched for her for weeks, until someone found her body in Marshall County.

Alberto Cruz has been sentenced for her murder.

Local investigators, including St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Commander Tim Corbett, will talk about their efforts to solve the case.
