Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:28 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, North Kings Drive, north of Garden Avenue, Syracuse. Driver: Larry Gore, 67, Kings Drive, Syracuse. Gore was backing out of a driveway and struck a parked vehicle owned by Robert Fransen, Goshen. Damages up to $5,000.
8:49 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, East SR 14, east of County Farm Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Scott Sandlin, 47, Nancy Drive, Warsaw. Sandlin was traveling southbound when a deer entered the roadway. Sandlin was transported from the scene by helicopter for his injuries. Passenger Heather Carver, 43, Warsaw, was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries. Damages up to $25,000.
9:51 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, East Prairie Street and South Canal Street, Leesburg. Driver: Staci Locke, 46, Prairie Street, Leesburg. Locke struck a parked car owned by Angel Smith, Warsaw, in the driveway. Damages up to $5,000.
2:09 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, SR 13, south of US 30, Pierceton. Drivers: Breanne Beggs, 19, Homeland Road, Elkhart; and Robbin Haines, 55, CR 800E, Greentown. Haines’ vehicle rear-ended Begg’s vehicle at the stoplight. Damages up to $5,000.
3:09 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, East Levi Lee road and North Old Road 15, Leesburg. Drivers: Siem Hall, 35, Perry Street, Warsaw; and Leeann Mcguire, 23, Orn Road, Milford. Hall stopped quickly at the railroad crossing due to an oncoming train, which caused Mcquire’s vehicle to rear-end Hall’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
2:43 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, North SR 15, south of West CR 600N, Warsaw. Drivers: Trevor Lutes, 20, Walnut Street, Nappanee; Ronald Heinbeck, 68, Vinton Avenue, Comstock Park, Mich.; and Gilberto Garcia. no age listed, Lismore Drive, Goshen. Lutes was driving southbound when he reportedly fell asleep. His vehicle crossed the center line and collided with Heinbeck’s vehicle. Lutes vehicle then collided with Garcia’s vehicle. Lutes had to be extracted from his vehicle and was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with a broken arm. Garcia suffered from minor abrasions and stated he would seek medical treatment on his own if needed. Damages up to $50,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 308 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Pamela Hokema, 73, Long Cove Boulevard, Carmel. Hokema struck a parked car owned by, Debbie Garber, Syracuse, in the CVS parking lot. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:59 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, SR 15, east of Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Stanislaw Wojcik, 69, Union Street, Warsaw; and Audrey Frush, 51, CR 300S, Warsaw. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. Damages up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:43 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 1000 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Jenna Kieper, 22, CR 36, Goshen; and Milton Zimmerman, 79, Red Bud Drive, Plymouth. Kieper’s vehicle struck Zimmerman’s vehicle in the parking lot. Damages up to $5,000.
