Robert ‘Holly’ James Holloway
Robert “Holly” James Holloway, 69, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at his home on Barbee Lake. He was born on April 26, 1949, the son of James Robert and Fawn (Grubbs) Holloway. On Oct. 24, 1998, he married the woman he called his bride until the day he died, Janette “Jane” Zimmerman.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Holloway is survived by five children: Steven Holloway, Niles, Mich.; Trish Holloway, Mishawaka; Holly (Keldon) Arjoonsingh, Wylie, Texas; Dr. Joshua (Krista) Bess, Seattle, Wash.; and Stephanie (Paul) Ulrich, Larwill; sixteen grandchildren; two siblings, Linda (Les) Grove, Rochester; and Rick (Diane) Holloway, Orlando, Fla.; a special niece Lauren Holloway; and his best friend, Mike Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Holloway was an unforgettable man. He loved his family and friends with all he had and left no good deed undone. He graduated from Argos High School and retired from RR Donnelley after 39 and a half years of dedicated service. He loved to socialize and was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, the VFW, the Eagles, and the Moose Lodge. Holly loved to host a good fish fry with his bride, play pool, shoot his handmade darts, sing karaoke, dance, and even fish a little or a lot. He also had a not so hidden wood working talent and enjoyed making oak cabinets for his bride’s storage needs.
A celebration of Holly’s life will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Forest Ridge Family Campground, 5000 North Elder Road, Larwill, IN 46764. In keeping with his wishes, a cremation committal will take place with Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
