Jeanette M. Dziabis R.N., 86, North Manchester, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Aug. 27, 2018, at her residence with her husband of 60 years by her side.

One of four children, she was born Feb. 6, 1932, to Hollis W. and Vivian Devota (McCarty) Pickett in Bakers Corner.

She received her Registered Nurse’s degree at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, and B.S. Degree in Nursing Education from Indiana University. She was an instructor of Medical Surgical Nursing at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. A member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality and served as a Eucharistic minister, faith was a cornerstone in her life. Not only was faith important to her but she also was a C.C.D. instructor at the church.

Jeanette Dziabis is survived by her husband Marvin Dziabis M.D., North Manchester, to whom she married on June 28, 1958; four sons: Steven P. Dziabis, M.D., Atlanta, Ga.; David M. Dziabis, New York City, N.Y.; Stanley E. (Jennifer), Dziabis, Columbia City; and Gary A. (Patricia) Dziabis, Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Lisa M. (Michel) Dziabis Calache, Marion; one brother, Ronald (Janice) Pickett, Bakers Corner; one sister, Deanna (Mike) Pickett Forrest, Sterling Heights, Mich.; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pickett;  eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Joseph W. Pickett, and one daughter-in-law Kimberly Dziabis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 1203 State Road 114 East, North Manchester, IN 46962. Father Andrew Curry and Father Bernard Ramenaden will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends and family may call from 2-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN 46962.
