Evelyn Rose Woods Bridges

Evelyn Rose (White) Woods Bridges, 92, Addison, Mich. passed away at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Home, Adrian, Mich.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1925, in Bedford to Orin White and Myrtle (Craig) White. She was married Aug. 21, 1949, to James E. Woods from Terre Haute. After her husband died Dec. 13, 1965, she remarried Eugene Scott Bridges of Mitchell, in January 1970, he passed away on Easter Sunday in 1990.

She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1943 and later from Indiana State Teacher’s College with a degree in Home Economics in 1953. She was a great homemaker, but most of all she will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons: James Daryl “J.D.” (Jeanie) Woods, Warsaw; Mark Edward (Michelle) Woods, Albion; John Nelson (Diane) Woods, Warsaw; and Michael Drew (Diana) Woods, Addison, Mich. Evelyn was blessed with twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also surviving is her younger sister, Anna Belle Smith, Mount Pleasant, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two siblings, Kenneth Eugene and Merlin Dale White, and her son William Dennis Woods, who died June 1960.

Visitation will be held at 3-6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.  Her funeral service will follow immediately at 6 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home.

Burial will take place at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Silverville.  Friends and family members are welcome.
