SOUTH BEND — Don’t be alarmed if you see smoke above the South Bend Airport.

Firefighters from the Gary/Chicago International Airport will be in our area, conducting live fire training drills.

The drills will be taking place in the northwest corner of the airfield from 9 this morning until noon.

The fire safety training is mandated by the FAA.
