WARSAW — High winds and fallen trees are the reason for power outages for over 3,000 Kosciusko REMC members scattered throughout the county.

Several utility poles are broken. Isolated areas may experience prolonged outages. There is considerable damage to distribution systems in the southern part of the county.

All KREMC crews are currently working to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible. KREMC anticipates they will be working throughout the night and urges members to prepare for prolonged outages.

KREMC reminds everyone to stay away from downed lines. Contact the co-op immediately to report downed power lines at (574) 267-6331 or (800) 790-7362.
