William L. Cowan, 73, passed away on July 11, 2018 at the Golden Living Center in Mishawaka.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1944, in South Bend to Burliss Cowan  and Margaret (DeMonte) Banner. He was a great Dad, independent and strong minded.

He was self employed. He sold cars, collected, and also repaired them. He owned several gas stations and convenience stores throughout the years, most notably Bill and Connie’s Mini Mart in North Liberty.

He is survived by his children: William R. Cowan, Teresa Piper, and Tammy Lingenfelter; ten grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday, July 20, at the American Legion Post 284 located at 23571 Grant Rd.  South Bend.

Father Brecke of Notre Dame will officiate the service at 3.
