Carl E. Ritchison, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 6:27 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, in his residence. He was born on May 2, 1932, in Tennessee City, Tenn. to Jesse Lloyd and Edna Pearl (Ewing) Ritchison.

On June 23, 1962, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Werstler in Pierceton. He lived most of his life and all of his marriage in Kosciusko County. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served in the Motor Pool Unit and reached the rank of Sergeant during the Korean War. After returning home he worked for Farm Bureau Co-op for 15 years, then he worked for the Penguin Point franchise from 1967 until 1997, when he retired. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw and sang in the church choir for 50 years. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion Post #49, Pierceton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite-Fort Wayne, and the Kosciusko County Shrine Club where he served as past President in 1982 and a member of the Mini Biker Patrol.

He loved spending time with his family over spring breaks in Florida at Daytona Beach. A very memorable time in his life took place on Sept. 27, 2017, when he was able to participate in The Honor Flight trip #25 to Washington D.C.

He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Ritchison of Warsaw; son; Rock L. (Jennifer), Booneville; brothers: Fearol Baxter and Robin Ritchison, both of Tippecanoe; grandchildren: Kelli (spouse Adam) Lehman, Newburgh; and Troy Ritchison, Booneville. He was preceded in death by three siblings.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m., in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, in Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Pastor Ernie Troxell will officiate. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors.
