
Lance Wesley Leeper, Warsaw, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, at the age of 47.
He was born on May 28, 1971, in Bremen, to Deane Leeper and Lanetia Mae (Davis) Christner.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 35 years, where he was a 1989 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute.
In his youth he worked at Owen’s Supermarket in Warsaw for many years, and he worked for DePuy in Warsaw for 18 years as a packager. He was a board member for the Warsaw Little League for over 20 years, where he served as president. He was a hard worker, avid race fan, loved sprint cars, the little-league park, avid Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame fan. He loved life and will be remembered as a great son, brother, uncle and friend. Even though he was here just a short while, he made a huge impact on the lives of many, he will be dearly missed by all.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother: Lanetia Mae Christner, Warsaw; father: Deane (Sherrie) Leeper, Bourbon; three brothers: Jeff (wife Connie) Christner, Middlebury; Layne (Lezlea) Leeper, Bourbon; Travis Leeper, Bourbon; and four sisters: Stephanie (Brian) Salyer, Warsaw; Lyna (Jerry) Moriarty, Etna Green; Amy (Hager) Holbrook, Tippecanoe; Layne (Kevin) Knight, Fort Wayne. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as his best friend, pal, and companion: Kahne-Dog. He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Jerry Joe Christner on Nov. 9, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Jarod Osborne. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
