UPDATE — Two Injured In July 4 Collision

A t-bone-style collision occurred July 4 between a green minivan and a maroon SUV just west of the Devil’s Backbone.

WARSAW — Two people were injured Wednesday, July 4 in a two-vehicle collision just before noon.

The accident occurred at the intersection of SR 25 and South CR 400W, Warsaw. Jerry Knepper, 52, Plymouth, had his Chevrolet Uplander stopped at the stop sign of CR 400W. Knepper failed to see oncoming traffic and pulled into the path of a Ford Explorer driven by Darell Shull, 69, Pierceton.

Darell Shull and his front-seat passenger Linda Shull, 69, Pierceton, were transported by EMS for medical treatment. Both suffered from minor complaints of pain.

Emergency personnel from Mentone and Burket, as well as police from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

Damages were estimated at up to $10,000.
