
Willis Leroy Kreider, 83, Goshen, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born April 19, 1935, in Goshen, to Albert and Thelma (Leatherman) Kreider.
He married Georgia (Smith) Kreider Nov. 12, 1966, at Tamarack Methodist Church in Mishawaka, by Rev. Travis Purdy. His wife, Georgia, survives along with their son, Brian L. Kreider (Eileen), granddaughter Emily and grandson Zachary, all of Chicago, Ill.; and brother, Marvin (Barbara) Kreider of Green Valley, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his infant sister, Marilyn (1946), his parents, and brother, Wendell Kreider.
Willis Kreider graduated from New Paris High School in the class of 1953. He proudly served four years (1953-1957) with the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked at RR Donnelly in Warsaw for 10 years, and the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier for 25 years, and Aunt Millie Bakery for eight years.
He was a faithful member of the Dutchtown Brethren Church in Warsaw for 42 years serving as trustee several years. Since moving to Goshen in 2008, has attended First Baptist Church, Goshen.
In past years Mr. Kreider participated in many 5K races in the Warsaw area. He loved most spectator sports and was an avid fan of Indiana University basketball and enjoyed Notre Dame Men’s football and men’s and women’s basketball. He loved spending time with his family and hearing about all the activities of his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Rieth–Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Rieth–Rohrer–Ehret Funeral Home, Pastor Gregg Lanzen will be officiating, with burial to follow at Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be given to First Baptist Church, Goshen OR Goshen Hospital Cancer Center.
