WINONA LAKE – Grace College junior Juaneice Jackson has enjoyed a breakout campaign during the 2012-13 season and reached a personal milestone with her 1,000th career point on Wednesday night against Spring Arbor.

Jackson, who scored 30 points to lead the Lady Lancers to victory over Spring Arbor, became the 15th member of Grace’s women’s basketball team with 1,000 career points (1,027).

She currently sits in 13th place, needing 41 points to enter Grace’s top 10 all-time scorers.

The 5-foot-7 guard and Gary, Ind., native (Calumet High School) has increased her offensive production each year in a Lady Lancer uniform. She scored 242 points as a freshman and upped that mark to 337 (9.9 ppg) as a sophomore.

She has turned into one of the more lethal weapons in the Crossroads League this season with 448 points to her credit. Her 17.9 points per game is second in the league. She also leads the CL in 3-point field goal percentage and steals.

Her 37-point outburst against Taylor on Jan. 8 is the most points a Crossroads League player has scored in a game since 2006.

Since Jan. 1, Jackson has terrorized the Crossroads League with 22.8 points per contest, leading the Lady Lancers to a 6-4 record.
