Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:57 a.m. Monday, June 18, West CR 1000S, East of South CR 1000W, Mentone. Driver: Emily Shorter, 25, South CR 750W, Claypool. Shorter’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
5:35 a.m. Monday, June 18, SR 13, north of East Shoop Road, Warsaw. Driver: Benjamin Watson, 37, Main Street, Nappanee. Watson’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $2,500.
12:46 a.m. Saturday, June 16, West CR 900N, east of Orn Road, Warsaw. Driver: Anthony Chapin, 18, Brookside Manor, Goshen. Chapin fell asleep and his vehicle left the south side of the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
9:03 a.m. Friday, June 15, East CR 400S, west of South CR 300E, Warsaw. Drivers: Derrick Golden, 35, Pine Cone Lane, Warsaw; and Max Evans, 70, Packerton Road, Warsaw. Evans slowed down his vehicle to avoid an eastbound farm sprayer. Golden’s vehicle rear-ended Evan’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:58 p.m. Saturday, June 16, South Huntington Street, south of East Palm Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Sylvia Hopkins, 61, Lakeview Drive, Warsaw. Hopkins’ vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $2,500.
10:48 a.m. Saturday, June 16, South Huntington Street, south of West Chicago Street, Syracuse. Driver: Rebecca Spurling, 54, Prairie Drive, Syracuse; and Joshua Beckley, 22, Hickory Place, Goshen. Both drivers thought they had a green light and collided in the intersection. Beckley had abrasions on his wrist but refused medical treatment. Damages up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:35 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 1701 W. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: Jose Juarez, 54, Hepler Drive, Warsaw. Juarez was backing out of a parking space and struck a parked vehicle. Juarez stated he did not know if he hit the vehicle so he continued to drive home. A witness reported the accident. The parked vehicle was owned by Teresa Anderson, Warsaw. Damages up to $2,500.
12:23 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 115 W. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: Savannah Owens, 25, Nye Street, Warsaw. Owens struck an unoccupied, parked car while backing out of a parking space. The parked car was owned by Tonya Marshall, Etna Green. Damages up to $2,500.
3:31 p.m. Friday, June 15, US 30 and Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Christopher Tompkins, 39, Rattington Circle, Warsaw; and Mark Howard, 52, Packerton Road, Warsaw. Howard slowed his vehicle down due to traffic being backed up, causing Tompkins’ vehicle to rear-end Howard’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
2:47 p.m. Friday, June 15, North Indiana Street, near East Fort Wayne Street. Drivers: Betty S. Ousley, 71, East CR 600S, Warsaw; and Andrew L. Shaw, 32, North Franklin Street, Mentone. Shaw was traveling east on Fort Wayne Street when he approached an intersection. As he approached, Ousley’s vehicle entered the intersection and Shaw’s vehicle impacted Ousley’s. Damage up to $10,000.
1:40 p.m. Friday, June 15, East Center Street, near Zoe Street. Drivers: Geneal A. Mellott, 80, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw; and Danielle L. Moore, 48, Cliff View Court, Fort Wayne. Mellott was traveling east on Center Street when Moore’s vehicle stopped in front of her. Mellott’s vehicle rear-ended Moore’s. Damage up to $10,000.
1:11 p.m. Friday, June 15, Us 30 and Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Terri Wagoner, 60, North CR 950E, North Webster; and Marilee Kreider, 78, North CR 350W, Columbia City. Waggoner stated she passed out just prior to rear-ending Kreider’s vehicle. Kreider was stopped in traffic when the collision occurred. Damages up to $10,000.
11:45 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Barbara Fields, 26, Water Street, Akron; and Michele Bickel, 55, Woodland Hills Drive, Warsaw. Fields pulled her vehicle too close to Bickel’s vehicle while parking. The front bumper of Fields’ vehicle struck the driver’s side of Bickel’s vehicle. Field’s vehicle was uninsured. Damages up to $2,500.
