Brooks Phillip Helmuth 33, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at 10:52 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018, in his Warsaw home.

Brooks Helmuth was born in Warsaw on July 3, 1984, to Phillip Helmuth and Debra Jean (Menzie) Helmuth. He attended Warsaw Community High School. He served in the United States Army as an Infantryman for eight years, spending two years in Korea and one year in Afghanistan before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
On Nov. 25, 2009, he was married to Audrey Pickard in Chattahoochee, Ga. They would share eight years together prior to his passing. To their union, one daughter was born.
He worked for Zimmer-Biomet as well as Seymour Midwest. He previously attended New Life Christian Church. He enjoyed Brazilian jiu-jitsu, competing and medaling in the middle weight class while stationed at Fort Bliss; he also enjoyed fishing. Brooks was excited to be a father and recently welcomed his daughter to the world. He was a giving, helpful person, described as the “strong, silent type.” He loved his family and had a strong work ethic.
Those who survive include his wife, Audrey and daughter, Marli of North Powder, Ore.; parents: Phillip and Deb Helmuth of Bourbon; brother, Terry Shaw of Bourbon; sister, Tammy (Ronald) Follmer of Etna Green; paternal grandmother, Esther Helmuth of Wakarusa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his maternal grandparents: Marlin and Garnet Menzie, and paternal grandfather, Hank Helmuth.
Friends may join the family for a time of visitation and sharing at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 11. A graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date.
